After several years without representation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Cokebusters is delighted to announce a new Agency Agreement with Asas AlJood. This partnership brings local presence, support and relationships to one of the world’s most important energy markets.
A Relationship Rooted in History
This agreement has a fitting origin. Saud AlGannas, founder of Asas AlJood, first worked with our founder, John Phipps, some 25 years ago, in the early days of mechanical cleaning in the GCC. At a time when the technique was new to the region, the two men built a strong working relationship across refining and energy sites throughout the Kingdom, founded on trust, reliability and a shared commitment to getting the job done properly.
That connection has now passed to the next generation. Earlier this year, Saud’s sons, Omar and Abdulaziz AlGannas, visited our Technology Centre in Chester, UK, where they spent several days gaining first-hand experience of everything we do. They saw our intelligent ultrasonic tube inspection technology, our mechanical cleaning capability and the in-house manufacture of our specialist machinery and associated equipment. They also saw our purpose-built test loop, which allows both inspection and cleaning to be demonstrated under controlled conditions.
They also had a tour of our D-Day Revisited Heritage Centre, where many of the WW2 military and personal memorabilia we collected during the 15 years the charity was active are now displayed, including a replica Spitfire!
Two Family Businesses, One Shared Outlook
Both Cokebusters and Asas AlJood are family businesses. Long-term relationships, personal accountability and a commitment to doing things well are values we share and those values shape how both companies approach their clients.
Even the company name itself reflects those values. In Arabic, Asas means foundation or basis and AlJood means generosity, so the name can be read as “The Foundation of Generosity”. It is a fitting description of a company that has built its reputation on strong relationships and generous support for its clients.
Asas AlJood is an established, growing company with a network of facilities across the Kingdom and a track record of supporting clients in the oil and gas, petrochemical and energy sectors. For Asas AlJood, the partnership adds advanced, high-technology capability to its existing service offering. For clients, it means a local team with direct access to engineering strength and specialist technology.
