Gearing Up For The Shutdown Season
22 August 2024
Every business has its seasonal fluctuations and in our twenty years of business we’ve found July & August is when we catch our breath, evaluate and learn lessons from the previous year as well as prepare and plan for the next. As our energy industry clients slow down during the peak of Summer, we take the opportunity to spend time on training our operators, as well as preparing our equipment and tooling resources in readiness to meet the September demand.
We’ve always prided ourselves on directly employing our site operators and investing in each and every individual to ensure they are trained to deliver our world-class mechanical cleaning and/or inspection services to the highest standard. This training process has evolved over the years, with the introduction of official examinations and ranking according to experience and competency.
We are a niche service provider, focussing on quality and innovation in our field of expertise. This narrow specialisation means most new recruits have no previous experience of our processes and so education – both in theory at our premises and in practice on site – is key. We have welcomed many new faces to the team in 2024 and this has given our veteran operators a chance to step up into training roles and share their knowledge with those who are new to our niche.
To date we have never subcontracted to personnel we have not trained ourselves and as such we have been able to maintain the highest quality service, with each of our operators working with the full support of the team around them.
During this slower summer season, many of our operators have reacquainted themselves with workshop operations and the manufacture of our newest machinery. In this sense our teams of designers, fitters and site operators work together to ensure our equipment is the best it can be. The knowledge operators gain in the workshop enables them to better maintain and troubleshoot their machinery and equipment on site, thus minimising downtime for our clients.
Fully prepared (and might we say, looking rather smart in their new overalls!), our operators in Chester and Houston look forward to this next season of site works. They’ll be trialling our latest mechanical cleaning and piping inspection tooling; reaching the unpiggable and delivering quality data to help our clients’ overcome their challenges and solve problems on the ground.
